SMART ASSIGN: THE RSDS TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGE

RSDS Appraisal Diversity believes that everything they can measure, track and review also gets improved. This is a tall order for a company that staffs more than 200 appraisers across the United States. 

That’s why Chief Technology officer Dan Wieschhaus specifically designed RSDS’ proprietary technology with the company’s growth and operations in mind, explaining, “When you scale things to this level, and you have people distributed all over the country, it’s going to be hard to get something off the shelf that’s going to work in a way that you want to run your business.” 

“SMARTLY” ASSIGNING AND TRACKING EVERY ORDER

From the moment an order comes in, the technology goes to work. It’s “Smart Assign” feature instantly analyzes the specific requirements and location. It compares those requirements with company capacity and percent utilization, following a logic trail to determine which appraisers are best suited to execute the order. “And so it just works down through that process, and at the very end it comes up with a list of up to three people that can take it. And then click on one of them, and they get the order.”

EASING THE BURDEN ON APPRAISERS AND THE RSDS SUPPORT TEAM

As the company’s operational backbone, the technology also improves communication between appraisers and RSDS’ nationwide network of Client Experience Directors (CEDs). Together, they receive daily updates and color-coded notifications indicating the status and urgent details of every order. Certified Appraiser Tanner Downs appreciates the clarity and organization of the results. “It allows everyone to come in and do as much as they can, as efficiently as they can, and as quickly as they can. It allows everyone to really go above and beyond without additional stress.”

GAME-CHANGING RESULTS 

Since implementing its technology platform, RSDS has seen an increase in efficiency in all metrics. The company’s guaranteed 5-day turn time for order delivery is currently averaging 3.6 days. The team is seeing through on its promise to deliver daily updates to every client (on every order) by 9am local time. The data-backed efforts of the entire team have resulted in an on-time delivery rate of over 99%. Yet Dan says there’s an ongoing effort to upgrade and improve Smart Assign, and all functions of the technology. “50 years from now, when we look at the industry at a nationwide level, it’s going to look different that what it does today. And I think you’re going to be able to track that success back to what RSDS is doing. I mean it’s very, very cool.”
