Social media marketing is the new normal, especially during times like these. When a potential client is searching for an appraisal business on any social media platform, do either you or your company show up in the results? As of today, there are currently 244 million people on Facebook in the United States. We sat down with Marty Haldane, Founder & CEO of Anow, to discuss the free webinar, “Grow Your Business with Facebook,” at 2 PM EDT on Thursday May 28th.

Buzz: What does social media have to offer businesses?

Marty: Social media has many benefits for basically every single company in every industry. Almost everyone these days is on some sort of social media, so you can reach people way easier than you can with traditional advertising and marketing. People search Google and social media to find companies or find out information on specific companies they are considering using.  Almost all of us do that now. You can use it as a free voice to promote and talk about your company – show them why you are better than anyone else. Or take it a step further and really grow your business by using paid advertising to target the very specific people you want to sell to. It really is a fantastic way to reach a large audience of specific people for a low cost.

Buzz: How has Facebook changed how businesses work in the past 5 years?

Marty: The amount of information Facebook has is incredibly impressive. It allows businesses to target specific groups of people so you can reach more people overnight without needing a marketing team. Your ads are targeted to the people you want to sell to, you can track what is working and what is not, and you can turn it up or off whenever you want. Plus, having a free Facebook company page gives you a nice online page if you don’t have a website.

Buzz: How has the recent pandemic impacted Facebook and/or social media for businesses?

Marty: Way more people are online now more than ever as they work from home. People are on their phones more or in front of their personal computers, so it’s never been a better time to jump into social media advertising for your appraisal business. Engagement rates are higher than ever right now.

Buzz: How can an appraiser distinguish themselves on Facebook through their business?

Marty: You need to set yourself up so people can find you. And when they do find you, make sure you have all of your information filled out and use images and logos that look clean and modern. Everyone expects some sort of online presence with the businesses they deal with, and they want to feel confident and comfortable when they find you. There are not a lot of opportunities to sell yourself over the phone, so first impressions are huge. It’s a way for people to see that you are real, to see that you put in the effort to look professional, and you can also show reviews to establish trust.

Buzz: Why should appraisers attend your webinar?

Marty: Simply, if you want to make more money you should join. This is not just to increase the volume of appraisal orders you get, but we will show you how to get higher fee private work by quickly setting something up and letting it run in the background.
